Researchers have increasingly acknowledged the critical role of inflammation in developing various degenerative diseases, involving neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and pulmonary conditions. As a result, there is growing interest in studying the potential of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for preventing or treating these diseases. This review highlights the emerging role of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in managing neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular problems, diabetes, and pulmonary disorders. Although many of the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved remain poorly understood, they have a significant impact on inflammation, nerve damage, myelin degeneration, artery hardening (atherosclerosis), and lung inflammation. Therefore, further research is essential to explore new therapeutic applications of NSAIDs, using targeted pharmacotherapy models. This is particularly important as Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs exhibit different both pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics profiles. The goal is to bridge experimental findings with clinical outcomes to develop effective treatments for these diseases.
